Dear members of the Association “Het Geslacht Vriend”,
As autumn approaches, it is time to start thinking about the Friends' Newsletter. This year, once again, we aim to make sure that the newsletter reaches you before Christmas. Well, perhaps not literally through your letterbox, as this year too we will be distributing the newsletter digitally by email.
Contributions to the Newsletter
We would like to invite you to share a contribution for our annual newsletter. All contributions are very welcome, such as Christmas and New Year's greetings, family stories, holiday experiences and any other interesting stories you would like to share!
We would also like to ask you to let us know about births, marriages, wedding anniversaries and deaths in the family. We not only enjoy receiving this information and find it important to stay informed, but it also helps us to keep our family records up to date.
We would appreciate receiving your contributions for the newsletter before 7 December 2026. Please send your contribution(s) to feirbswuein.[antispam].@vriendfamily.nl (please include your membership number).
We kindly ask you to prepare your contribution in WORD format.
Theme
The theme of the 2026 newsletter is “The Rescuers of Andijk”. In January 1916, Andijk narrowly escaped a breach of its dike. This happened 110 years ago. We would therefore also be very pleased to receive any stories, memories or recollections relating to this event, in whatever form.
Developments within the Association
As a board, we are working on some exciting plans for our association, including the development of a website and updating and expanding our family records. You will find more information about these plans in the newsletter! For this reason, we have also welcomed some new members to our team. They are: Daniel Vriend (250-494), Jeltje Vriend (335-666) and Steven Vriend (185-501). They will introduce themselves to you in more detail in the newsletter.
Kind regards,
The Board (interim),
Daniel, Gert, Arnold, Edwin, Eline, Nathalie, Jeltje, Steven and Wim Nanne
